"Fantasy Family"

These 2 photos are from Dead Fred.
Two different stories this time.

1. I don't know these people, I'll bet they were kind and wonderful.
2. I make it all up, no ill will is intended.

May I introduce you to Margaret(left)and Delores(right). Margaret lives on the edge of town and helps with the family's small dairy farm. Delores lives in a house in town. Her Mother has hosted many society tea parties through the years. Margaret and Delores met while working at the local corner Five and Dime drugstore. They want to fall in love with swell guys and have vowed a promise to each other to wed on the same day in a double ceremony.
Please meet Ruby and Virgil. They have only known each other about 3 months. They are on their way to elope. Virgil has a job at the factory making vacuum sweepers. Ruby has never worked. They met when Ruby went, without her parent's consent, to a Road House where Virgil goes on Fridays after work. Ruby's parents don't like Virgil.

Beauties, All...

I don't know any of these lovely people. I purchased these cabinet card photos about 25 years ago at an estate sale because they needed a home. I also really liked their clothing, shoes & flowers.
Please feel free to copy them for your personal art projects or for altered art endeavors you may choose to sell.
(Please play nicely--do not copy them
to sell just as photos
or part of a digital collage collection. Thanks!)

Hourglass Shape

Last summer we took a road trip to the
It was a great place filled with many wonderfully educational and interesting displays. We had gone to a few other stops before arriving at the museum, so unfortunately we arrived about 30 minutes before closing time. We rushed through a tiny bit of it all.
We plan to return again; this time with many more hours ahead of us.

One room was about the history of all things unmentionable! Undergarments for women and the history and progression through Victorian & Edwardian times.
The top photo is of one of the descriptions on the wall about the
dangerous effects of corsets on the woman's anatomy.
Yikes! NO THANK YOU.

If you want to read more about the history of corset wear, this is a good site.

I Have To Tell You

I have spent some time reviewing my site, now that I have 114 posts. I decided that I needed to break down everything into more specific categories. You will see them in the margin.
When I began doing this blog I never knew it would be so much fun! I can't believe I have written so much. I can't believe how much more I have in my head that I want to write!
It has been a great help with keeping in touch with family and friends across the miles. I have even had the good fortune of making some new friends. Who can ever have too many friends? No one who is a friend of mine!!
I have also added the definition of EPHEMERA in the margin at the bottom. It is what my Dad would refer to as "junk". I love Junk. With a capital "J".
