Signs, Signs, Everywhere a Sign

I painted all these signs. they hang in my Family room. It is decorated like a cottage/cabin theme. We like vacationing in the Northern Michigan area so this makes us feel very cozy. The "Today's Ice" sign has little dangly signs that say"closed", "thin", danger", and "safe". That's an old pair of kid sized strap on double runner ice skates hanging off it too. To the left you can see some old kid sized strap on roller skates with red wheels.
The "Cottage for Rent" sign is painted on the opposite side also... "Sleigh Rides".

In the hallway

The 2 paper cut out decorations (haunted house and witch)are my favorites from when I was little; they are old Hallmark. The dressed bear was my Mom's. The felt pumpkin purses were made for my girls when they were little by my neighbor/friend.

Top of my Little Golden Book shelf.

My collection of Little Golden Books

One of my favorite books/movies.
Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil.

My art work.
It is crayon (press really hard so it's waxy)
with water color paint over it.

Kid art on the bathroom door (I LOVE kid art!!).
The sign hanging above is made of Styrofoam.

A. made this witch with crayon and markers a few years ago. She made each piece [ hat, hair, face, etc.] separate and then pieced it together.
Did I mention I LOVE kid art??!

A night with Scrabble and Cher

The girls and I went out to eat at our favorite Chinese buffet. When we came home E. played on the computer. A. and I played Scrabble during Cher's music videos DVD. Cher is a big favorite in our house. I took the girls to see Cher at her farewell concert. It was the first concert that E. and A. ever attended. I remember playing outside all day when I was little and Mom yelling for me to come home because the Sonny and Cher Show was coming on TV. I was glued to the TV every week for that.
I went to lots of concerts in my before kids life, and have enjoyed some since being a mom, as well.  Among others--Elton John, Eric Clapton, The Who, The Kinks, Joe Walsh, The Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, Molly Hatchet, Ted Nugent, Supertramp, J. Geils.
Well back to Scrabble... We only had the letters left that you see on the racks in the picture. My rack only had the letter X left on it. A. beat me by 6 points!!
