ATCs for a special person

[You can click on the image above to enlarge it and see more detail.]

I have been terrible about getting birthday mail out to the post office for my dear ones BEFORE their birthdays.

I made these ATC's (which means artistic trading cards) and they are in the mail this very minute, but late. I need to get my butt in gear, in the future.

Paper Posie ATC

A Show and Tell..... I sent my "sister" Suzette one of my handmade paper posies as a "Thinking Of You" surprise. She made this super awesome Artistic Trading Card with it and sent me an image of the finished results.
I just love her creations!

Artistic Trading Cards

Click on image to see detail.

I had a split second to sit and create in between the must do's that needed to be done!!

Don't laugh about that statement...you all know that we have must do's on the list that we manage to put off and put off and...

When you are able to cross off the must do's AND create ~~ it is a good day to be sure.

*sigh*

Dear Betty,

I used some of the goodies you sent to me.

flower(cut from ribbon)= "my curly hair" card

lace= nurse card

flowered ribbon= "drink buttermilk" card

Happy Birthday My Suzette

A very Happy Birthday to my "big sister" Suzette who has known me since I was pre-school age. I love you!

I hope your trip to the Pacific coast is wonderful!
Send me some more of your great photos and I will make more California ATC's like the one I did here with your San Fransisco boats.

Help! I'm Addicted To ATCs

Is there a patch you can get from the pharmacy to help with this addiction?!!!

I can't resist making these little projects. I think it is because they are not too terribly time consuming. You can get the feeling of total satisfaction and accomplishment with just one card. Multiply the number and my mood comes close to giddy-ness!!!!!

Click on the image to enlarge and see the detail.
NOTE: The airplane ATC is on a black card so it tricks the eye on this black background. OOPS!

Additional ATC Art

Sorry I have been away for so long! Here are some new ATC's to show you. Click on the image and enlarge them to see the detail !! Let me know what you think about this batch.
I will update with another post soon...I promise!!

Art After Dark

I am usually tucked in bed by this time of night! I decided to try and stay up to watch the late night shows. I used to do it all the time. (I will probably pay for it with the lost sleep feeling about 4 pm tomorrow- that is my regular slump time.) So to keep my eyes from becoming droopy before midnight I turned to my heap of art scraps. Here's what happened...

Click on the images to enlarge so you can see the detail. I can't pick one favorite; I have two -
1. Romanticism
2. She's a little crazy

Tell me your favorite!!

I'll head off very soon toward my feather pillow and the coziest spot in the house...next to my hubby!!

Paper Passion

Presenting my latest session of self appointed art therapy! These itty bitty pieces of art [called Artistic Trading Cards - for my not so crafty friends] are so much fun to make.

This morning, after helping 4 kids ( 3 of my own and one borrowed ) exit the house for the journey to school, I put a load of bedding in the wash, did some dishes, put the bedding out on the line and sorted through some paper work - bills, junk mail, school papers and such.
Does everyone have paper work that seems to grow into a mountain when no one is looking?
I deserved a break, didn't I?
I started playing with my art paper scraps and these finished little goodies emerged from my crowded brain.

A Little Art

I've been at it again... more artistic trading cards [ATCs] to show to you. I find each bitty card a dose of art therapy! It relaxes me to create without any expectations and end up with a satisfying result-a voice added to these mute pictures.

Click on the image to enlarge it so you can read the type and see more detail.

ATC Gallery

I made some more Artistic Trading Cards. They are my newest addiction. I might have to start harvesting type from another of my thrifted poem books. I have almost wiped out the first one. Be sure to click on the image to enlarge it so you can read them!!

Art Showing ATCs

I am showing my artistic trading cards that I made recently. Be sure you click on the images to see a larger picture...the words are great and you need to see them bigger!!! Trust me.
I love making these because you can start with a bunch of misc. nothingness and end up with a tiny masterpiece. I acquired some old sewing magazines from the 1950's and the pictures and ads in the back pages are too funny!! They make perfect collage loot. Postage stamps are fun to add also.
There sure were plenty of girdle ads in the 1950's sewing magazines!!
