Then along came that duck's friend and he was pretty ugly. I don't mean to be unkind, Mr. Duck, really I don't. You just won't win a beauty contest hands (or webbed feet) down!!
Oh my goodness...then I couldn't believe when that ugly duck was joined by his friend, Mr. Uglier Duck. This duck was so strange and mixed up and, well, ugly!!
Being an ugly duck can have it's drawbacks but also advantages, too!
When you're an ugly duck you get lots of attention and lots of questions directed at you. "You must have an interesting family tree. What did your Mom and Dad look like?", is one of the most frequent questions. You may find you can't translate the answers from "quack" to English.

And since you get a lot of attention and a lot of questions, you usually get lots more yummy stale bread treats than the pretty ducks.

Hi Amy,those are some strange looking ducks, indeed. I have always enjoyed feeding the feathered friends as well, and its much more fun when you do it with a child along.
I Loved looking at all your neat finds. The little figurine is adorable.
I love to go to the park and feed the ducks. It is so much fun to set and watch them....I hope you have the most beautiful weekend ever......Mary
Wonderful ducks....or geese. Isn't feeding them fun? That has always been a favorite thing to do with the grandies when they were younger!
We had three when I was young. They were mean...like "attack" geese or something. We kids were scared to death of them!
I like your red billed birds--have never seen anything like that Joan
