fragile glasses

Goodness...pay no attention to the laundry in the washer waiting to be escorted out to the clothesline on this sunny September day, or the breakfast dishes waiting for a bath...oh wait, this is Monday, that means it is E's day to wash dishes. Guess I know what she's daydreaming about doing first thing after school. Dishes. NOT! I do have another excuse to avoid the dishes. Yesterday I broke a drinking glass while washing. I cut my thumb, finger and two places on the back of my hand. These things happen so quickly. I am now all bandaged up. Coincidentally, back in 1990 at exactly this time of September , when I was a few weeks away from my wedding day, I cut my hand on a broken glass and my neighbor had to drive me to go get stitches. Not that serious this time, thanks goodness!!

Now I am off to hang the laundry on the line.
My cleaning/chores I find strangely enjoyable list includes hanging laundry. I love the freshness of it. I also like to see it move in the breeze under a bright blue sky with fluffy white clouds. I'm sure women long ago didn't find it so enjoyable when they had to wash it all first by hand with a scrub board and wringer. On the other hand, maybe they actually did enjoy seeing it on the line after all as it meant the hard part was done!!!

Wow Amy! You've been busy. I will have to go take a peek in your shop. As for the laundry...I love hanging wash on the line too, but I don't get to do it here. It's too darn dusty and I'm afraid my cat would think it was his new play yard!

Hi Amy! I love this post....the title, the photos. Very clever. And hanging laundry on the line? Nothing in the world smiles like clean, dry clothes from the clothesline. Now, ironing, I can do without~
