A Commissioned Project

I was asked by someone special to make a graduation congratulations card for a wonderful girl I do not know personally. I made a book style card with several pages, handmade paper, and other goodies.
I scanned a few of the pages to show.
The colors were sage green, pale pink, lavender, and egg shell.
This is the front cover canned against a dark background. The book ties with raffia edged with beads and charms. An "I" charm for her name~ Ingrid, a star charm engraved with the word WISH for "wish upon a star", a graduation cap (mortarboard), and a key charm for "key to success". There is also a leaf charm since the handmade paper has flowers and leaves embedded in it.
I actually burned the edges of the quote paper.

Scrapbook paper, card stock, handmade paper, stickers, vellum and mulberry paper was used

A close up of the burned quote paper. I scanned some music paper and changed the color to very pale pink and faded and blurred it with the help of my scanner program. Then I typed the quote on the computer and used the "newly made" music paper to feed through the printer. The picture immediatly above does not show the music paper as well as the 2nd and 3rd pictures when you enlarge them.
Click on the images to enlarge for detail.

By the way...I didn't get my nap after all. I was just dozing off about 10 minutes after I went to my bed and then the phone rang and then the kids came home and then...............

Great card--I like the irregular burned edges on the quote--very cool! Sorry you missed out on the nap :-(, it's tough when you have kids. Have you tried bribing them? lol

Amy, what a precious card. Like the hand made paper, and all the little extras. Maybe she will put it in a frame with her picture.
Sorry about your nap,
maybe this week:)
