Fantasy Family

These pictures are from this site--
A wonderful wealth of possible family discoveries for genealogists!

1. I don't know these people, I'll bet they were kind and wonderful.
2. I make it all up, no ill will is intended.

Virginia and Jacob have had 70 years of wedded bliss. Virginia says the key to any couple having the same blessing is to make sure to never complain when he cleans his rifle or plucks the chickens on the lace table cloth in the parlor.

Aggie was always a fashion forward girl. Tired of wearing black shoes with black stockings every day, she would spend her time in school doodling in her tablet while imagining such wonders as colored stockings (like maybe a daring dark blue) and ribbon laced boots. She wanted to design clothing and accessories that would stand out. She was often found sitting, as punishment, in the corner of the one room school house after Miss Bore would catch her daydreaming with pencil to paper instead of doing her arithmetic. She didn't care. It gave her more time to think and dream and imagine. She certainly knew in her heart she could do better than the milliner who came up with the creation that she had seen Miss Bore wearing upon her head at the last church social.

Walter's buddies told him he should find a young trophy wife to parade around on his arm, but he would have none of that. "They're too demanding. They always are awantin' somthin'. ", replied Walter. So when Walter met Alice by chance at the Bingo parlor last summer, he was sure she was the girl for him. He just wanted to have a casual relationship without any long term commitments or strings attached.
A few months into their fling, Alice thought it was strange that she was craving pickles and ice cream since she was pretty sure she had gone th,e world. She had all but given up on having any young uns.
Now she feels more than young at heart...Alice is over the moon with joy over little Joy Elizabeth.
Walter is some days a bit less enthused, and a lot more tired.

Go check it all out sometime=but tie a string around your ankle and the other end to your computer because you may get lost in time and lost in his many incredible archives and be truly lost, never to be seen again by your hungry-clean laundry-needing-family again!!!

"Yep! I'm tryin' to sit very still and give at least half a smile. But can you answer a question for me, Mr. crazy camera man? You're posing me with all these things around me while I wear this silly hat WHY?"

Thelma has searched and searched at her parents' house through boxes, drawers, attic trunks... for a baby photo of herself taken WITHOUT a dog (either stuffed animal or live). Now at age 63 she keeps cats. She has 17 felines, at last count.

The nerve of those so called friends. Caroline has every right to be angry over what happened Thursday last. Imagine...who could be offended by the mere presence of a sweetheart like Caroline's beloved pet pig Penelope? Penelope was the picture of grace and etiquette at the tea party. She really didn't mean to snort at that cranky old Mrs. Bacon.

Meet Helen Fay and Geraldine. They have know each other since 2nd grade in Miss Peabody's class. They have spent their lives since the famous spelling bee of '03 being competitors with one another. They feel driven to have to do the same things but always trying to out-do each other!! First it was the fancy bows on their shirtwaists then the extravagant hats. What's next for these two girls...
Tattoos??!!

Martha had been thinking lately of getting a part time job to keep her busy in retirement. She just didn't know what she could do. She thought of all her previous work experience and turned some thoughts over in her head.
One day she went to see the seashore with her friend Eva. That eventually lead to Martha reminiscing days gone by...... she sat down in the sand to show Eva the pose she used to do when she was a swim suit model just 50 something short years ago. After sitting down in the sand and being unable to get back up, she and Eva decided it wasn't the best idea of the day.

Jo Jo was practicing to get it all just right. The pose next to the television set was going to have to be better than perfect to divert her dear Harold's attention away from the big Saturday night boxing match. He always glued himself to the black and white every weekend like a man hypnotised with tunnel vision; while a short distance away, she muffled her tears in the pantry. "Mother didn't say it was going to be like this once we had the marriage certificate.", sobbed Jo Jo as she wiped the tears on her monogrammed hanky.

Should it happen that any of the cast members
for this next season of
a certain popular dancing competition tv show
need to be replaced due to injury, sickness, family obligations, etc.;
This is the back-up pool from which they will be chosen.

Cora has just graduated. She now holds a law degree from University. She is all too aware there is a long history of young men from "old money" families that graduate with a job waiting for them. They join well established attorney groups and are taken under the wing of some of the best elders. Cora is not one to run and hide. She plans to march confidently forward and take on the cigar smoking gentlemen. She always had a reputation for being a strong willed girl- and besides- her Grandfather Edwin told her she could be anything she could dream! She had a hard time with that decision for a while. She almost became a professional bi-plane stunt pilot.

Please let me introduce you to Elaine and Dorothy Ann.
They were once pin up girls until they started to get FLUFFY!

Boy oh boy, did Master Francis get a lickin' when his Momma found out he took baby sister Eugenia along with him riding around the yard in the goat cart. His Momma gasped, when she came back from the cellar where she put up the canned vegetables, and found an empty bed instead of Eugenia sleeping in her crib. It was then that she heard the dog barking relentlessly in the yard and looked outside to see the children bumping across the yard while Gertie the goat ran full speed. Little Eugenia was laughing as she saw her Momma running out of the house, but Francis knew immediately he was gonna get it!!

Have you met Paul, his wife Ruthie and their neighbor Cathy Jo? They hold the title of the top 3 highest earnings for this past year at the St. John's Bingo Hall. This is the photo that appeared in the society column of the local newspaper.
Cathy Jo has decided to spend her dough on some new summer weight girdles and splurge on a dinner out at that new Chop House in town. She has decided not to wear a new girdle to dinner though- too stiff and confining...after all, she may even throw caution to the wind and order coconut cream pie!
Paul and wifey plan to Turtle Wax and gas up the Buick then take a weekend road trip to The Museum Of Potato Chip Art.

Henry and his trusty dog Celia stop by pretty often to visit the lonely widow Shaffer. She and Henry are sometimes seen sitting close together on the front porch wicker swing, sipping lemonade. Celia lies on the porch floor while Henry scratches her back with his foot as the swing squeaks back and forth. The squeaking covers the intensely serious interaction they have when they talk. But other times they quietly slip into the house and don't come out for hours, while Celia keeps watch on the porch at the front door. Sometimes deliveries are made in large crates, big enough to hold just about anything you could imagine. The neighbors in the area have many stories. But boy oh boy!, were the neighbors surprised when the latest Greatest Housekeeping issue came out at the news stands, and low and behold, the widow Shaffer's unassuming little house was featured as the Home of the Year for the best most tasteful creative decorating...and Henry is now so busy with decorating commission appointments he cant keep up.

Frank and Charlotte have lately had the feeling that ghosts are always following them... or maybe they, themselves, are ghosts...they haven't yet decided. Maybe Sylvia Brown can help.

Ginny- age 10
Ginny was always designing things for her dolls to wear. Her Mother said she would someday be famous for her clothing creativity.

Ginny- age 20
As a young adult, Ginny had the idea for stocking panties way before it hit the mainstream market. She unfortunately didn't file for a patent. Now you may know about these... they're called pantyhose. They were made by the now ex-friend of Ginny with whom Ginny shared her idea and design.
It's funny how things happen. Ginny never achieved fortune and fame... however...Ginny's daughter was always making things for her dolls to wear. When she became a young adult she began designing bras for a well known company. You may have heard of a "secret" company whose models wear wings??

Melba is a self proclaimed society and gossip reporter. Seventeen years ago she moved into the bustling little area that gives her a reason to get up bright and early each morning.
Will Mrs. Pierce strut out to get her morning paper in her marabou spike heeled slippers and pink polka dot nightie?
What time will the gardener show up and slip into the Anderson house; not to emerge again until just before Mr. Anderson pulls in the driveway from a long work day?
The new neighbors in the blue house had a new sofa delivered last Tuesday. (Darn those wrappings that don't allow a nosy- ah I mean inquisitive person see just what style and color was ordered from Sofaland Unlimited. They just had a pre-holiday sale you know!)
Someone has to keep track of who bought a new car or the fact that it was the Johnson's little Ted and hooligan friends that were playing baseball too close to the Reynold's living room bay window the same day it was mysteriously shattered.
( An earthquake indeed! Who ever heard of an earthquake that only breaks one window in the whole neighborhood? And in Michigan of all places!!!)
Yes, Melba is providing a valuable service to her community. Too bad her husband, kids and neighbors don't agree. Oh well. Melba realizes you can't please everyone. She does, however, find great pleasure in each new day.
